Black headed gull chick

I seem to be stuck on a theme again at the moment. I have spotted lots of baby birds lately so today I thought I would share another one that I have managed to capture in a photograph.

This time I am sharing an image of a chick of the black headed gull. Not one of my favourite birds I have to say, but the chick is quite cute!

Black headed gull chick. (technical info: focal length 240mm, 1/1000 sec at f/8, ISO 400)

There were two adult gulls protecting this nest. They were taking it in turns to fetch food and sticks, bringing them back to the nest. If another bird came close to the chick they squawked  loudly, warning them off.
