Dubrovnik in Photographs – behind the scenes of a Sadler holiday
This week I wanted to share some of my Dubrovnik photos. Croatia was our destination this summer for our 2018 family holiday. It has been on the wish list for a couple of years and this summer we finally got there.
It is a country that has grown in popularity for tourists in recent years. This is thanks mainly to the TV show Game of Thrones. Fans of the show will already be aware that Dubrovnik became the streets of Kingslanding.
Holiday Highlights
Dubrovnik is one of those beautiful cities that you can just wander around and take in the sights. Weather it is the beautiful blue sea views, or the striking old buildings in the wall city. It truly is a stunning city.
Setting out early on day one we decided to walk the city walls before the heat of the day got too much for us! It wasn’t long before our inner nerds emerged as we started to spot familiar scenes from Game of Thrones!
A boat trip over to Lokrun gave us some shade from the heat of the day while giving us a walk in a stunning nature reserve. (And yes – unleash more of our inner geek by visiting “Qarth” and getting to sit on an iron throne!)
No visit to Dubrovnik is complete without plenty of trips to the beach. We were lucky enough to have a small private beach close to our apartment which allowed the kids to spend hours in the crystal clear waters in the sheltered bay.
