Surprising oil on water photography
I have been playing with some more artistic photography again! This time I wanted to create colourful images that were more abstract. I decided to have a play with oil on water photography.
You may have released by now I love some abstract photography. But on this occassion I think I am going even more abstract!
Oil and water don’t mix!
The wonderful thing about dropping oil into the water is that they two liquids separate out. They have different densities which means the oil will float on the surface of the water.
Add some light and coloured paper and the fun begins! To find out more about how I created this image, check out my blog post next week.
But for now check out some of these inspiring abstracts:
The great thing about this image is how simple it is. For me, it reminds me of the sun and a sandy beach on a summers day. I have also been told it looks like planets in space! It goes to show that oil on water photography can be really creative.
That is the wonderful aspect of abstract art, it can be whatever you want it to be. It also makes it really versatile for wall art, or these cute abstract notebooks and original oil on water iPad skins.
