Top 10 win for delightful duck in photo competition
Back in the summer, I shared with you my vintage ponies image. This image was lucky enough to be in the top 10 of a photo competition. I am pleased to tell you that I have received a top 10 win for another one of my images!
Top 10 win for Goosander photograph!
The theme for August was “nature and horticulture” in the picture frames express monthly competition. So this left a lot of scope for what I could enter.
I decided to enter this Goosander bird with a feather attached to its beak! This image made me smile. It think it has a great expression on its face, above all this bird looks really unhappy (if a bird can look unhappy!)
Finally, if you are interested in seeing more of the entries they can be seen over on the picture frames express blog. There was a fantastic mix of dragonflies and butterflies among the winning images.
Interesting fact!
This bird was captured on one of my many walks around West Sussex. This portrait was actually photographed at a nature reserve through a wire fence. However, I did not want the fence in my shot. So, to get the bird in focus and lose the fencing I opened up my aperture as wide as my lens would allow. Therefore blurring out the fence completely.
Don’t miss out
