Powerful “Lacking empathy” wins a spot in the top 5
Today I wanted to share an image with you called Lacking Empathy. Rather than just sharing the image, I want to give you a bit of background as to how this image came about.
Inspiration for Lacking Empathy
The idea for this image actually came from having a really bad day. I had one of those days when everyone seemed to be really angry with each other, and had no empathy at all.
On my way home from work, I was involved in quite a scary road rage incident, which left me shaken up. So my way of coping was to put it into a piece of art.
The shoes represent the admonition to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. The person on the shoes represents me and my frustration. The other characters are all the angry and judgemental voices I came across that day!
Art Therapy
The exercise was really useful for me. It allowed me to shake off the negativity of the day. I get easily lost in my photography, both taking the images and spending time editing them afterwards.
Top 5 win
In April, I entered this image into the monthly photo critique on The Photographers Academy. Fortunately, it was one of the top 5 images for the month.
Also, the critique was fabulous! The review said it had a feel of Michael Angelo about it! A compliment indeed!
The top 5 photographers each month get a print of their image. Here I am with the wonderful 20 x 16 inch print from Loxley Colour!
