A sneak peek behind the scenes of the darkened room
You may have noticed my new creepy room image over recent weeks. Today I am going to show you a behind the scenes look at how I created this darkened room.
The creepy room
The creepy room features a lady looking towards a moonlit window. She is sat in a room with ivy growing up the walls.
Obviously this is a tricky image to take without loads of props and planning. So I recreated this image using layers of images I have previously captured.
I started with a room I created using laminate flooring for the floor and grainy wall textures to create a room. However, the window frame was my coffee table the centrepiece removed.
Using an image of the moon that I had in my image library, and shots of ivy I photographed in my garden, I layered them into the composition.
Finally, I photographed myself and placed my cutout into the image.
I then played around with the brightness and colour grading to make all these images work together. In all there were 10 separate images used to build up this final piece.
The darkened room
Finally, I added various textures and light flares to give the room an old and worn look with a creepy atmosphere.
