You need to see this magical Christmas themed composite art

Each year Amateur Photographer magazine runs a cover competition for their Christmas edition. This year I decided to create a Christmas themed composite image to submit as my entry.

Christmas themed art

I wanted to create something that had a feel of Christmas but still felt like my style of art. For this reason, it is darker than your average seasonal image!

Also, it had to have the feel of magic and childhood wonder about it! Although it is on the dark side, I still feel it works in capturing that sentiment.

Creative composite

This Christmas themed composite is created from a number of separate images. These include Christmas decorations, the moon, and a photograph of my daughter from a few years ago.

I purposely left a large amount of negative space in this image. As I designed it for a magazine cover competition, it needed to include space for headlines.
