Shortlisted lockdown series celebrated at award ceremony
Last year the Founders Cup shortlist was announced. I was lucky enough to have my Lockdown series featured in this shortlist. On February 8th this year, the Guild of Photographers held their annual award ceremony. This is an opportunity for the members to come together and celebrate each other’s success. Also, they announced the Founders Cup winner.
Shortlisted series
I was ecstatic when I found out about being shortlisted for this award. The Guild of Photographers has many very talented photographers amongst its membership. I am truly in awe of the talent! So to have my series selected to be in the shortlist was just amazing.
Virtual Award ceremony
As with everything at the moment, the structure of the award night looked a little different to previous years. The Guild held a virtual event. This allowed members to all gather for an evening of food and fun from the comfort of their own homes. However, this did not spoil the fun and excitement everyone was feeling.
The evening was streamed on Facebook with winners being announced in a range of categories, from wedding, wildlife, newborn and pets.
Finally, the moment arrived, it had been a long painful wait to find out if I had been successful. So did I win the Founders Cup? Unfortunately not! However, I am still so chuffed to have been shortlisted and featured among such talented photographers. Congratulations to Sharon Bolt who took away the title for 2021!
