surprising competition win for spooky apple image!
Way back in the tail end of 2020 I entered one of my images into a photo competition. A couple of weeks ago I found out that my spooky apple image won a prize in the Park Cameras competition.
Spooky Apple
I created this image in November. We were approaching the month of Halloween and I wanted to create an image that summed up the month. The Guild of Photographers ran a fun competition during the November lockdown. They gave us some themes to work with to create some images. This led me to come up with this spooky apple image.
Entering competitions
This image shortlisted for the Guild competition. As you can imagine I was very chuffed! However, I liked the image so much that I decided to enter it into another competition I had discovered. Park Cameras had a competition on the theme of Halloween, and this image seemed perfect for it.
I must admit, I had completely forgotten that I had entered it. It was only during mid-February when I received an email from the company saying that I was a runner-up that I remembered. It came as a nice surprise.
New camera strap
Also, the other bonus from this news was that I had won a new camera strap. I currently have the standard strap that comes with the camera. However, this particular strap can be adjusted to be used as a wrist or a neck strap.
