competition win for the best image of the year
Throughout 2020 I entered my images into a competition run by Picture Frames Express. For the final month, their theme was to enter your best image of the year. I was fortunate to place in the third position with my entry.
Image of the year
For this competition, we had to submit our favourite image of 2021. This is always something I don’t like doing. I take so many different styles of image, it is difficult to pick a favourite. I decided to pick one that would have more general appeal, rather than one of my dark composites. You may recall seeing some of my nature images in a previous blog.
So I picked one of my nature shots. It was this lovely Red admiral butterfly which I captured on a visit to some gardens in early Autumn. It was a lovely bright sunny day, which made it tricky to get a good shot. The bright colours of the flowers and the wings of the butterfly were dazzling in the bright sunlight.

There were some fantastic images in this competition, I particularly liked the runner up image. it was such a creative shot!
