Where wire wrapping and photography meet

Last month I shared my new interest. I have started to create my own jewellery. Having spent the last month playing with this new hobby, I have enjoyed learning new skills. Today I thought I would share some images of my wire wrapping.

So far I have only had a play with rings. This is because I wanted a new ring! So it seemed like a sensible place to start.

It has been a steep learning curve. I started out making very basic ones, where I just bent the metal. Then I went on to weaving a thin wire around a thicker wire to create stronger and more interesting designs.

I have created some simple rings made with just the wire of different gauges. I also became adventurous and added some beads to a few of my designs.

New audience to practice on

Fortunately, my eldest daughter and her friends are taking a liking to my rings. This has given me a lot of practice. I now have 2 more requests to fulfil! At this rate I will be improving my skills quite quickly!
