Competition win for Black and white architecture image
As many of you will know I love to enter a photo competition. Recently I found out that I was runner up in a competition where I entered a black and white architecture image.
Black and white architecture
Monotone often works well when photographing buildings. It highlight the contrast in the lights and shadows and can help you to really focus on the details. A while ago I was on a mission to challenge myself with my images. I had set myself the challenge to photograph a black and white image while on my photo walk in Worthing.
One of the controversial buildings in the town is the bayside. It is a tall block of flats set right on the beach. The planning process was long and drawn out. However, love it or hate it, it is now here to stay.
I capture this image before the building was complete. If you look closely you can see that it is unfinished!

Competition win
The company Cewe were running a competion in association with The Guild of Photographers. I was delighted to find out that my image came second in this competition. My prize was a voucher to use on one of their photo books. That is very exciting as I am really bad and remembering to print my images! However, I just have to find the time to collate the images and curate my book now!
