A sunny afternoon feeding the squirrels
With February half term being a bit of a wash out, it was lovely to see a glimpse of sunshine when it did happen! For us it was an opportunity to spend an afternoon feeding the squirrels!
Sunny afternoon
It was a very rare sight to see the sun over the school holiday. This made it more special to spend the afternoon at the park. Turning up with pockets full of animal snacks, we started to stroll. It was very soggy underfoot due to the huge volume of rain we have been experiencing. So we tried to stick to the paths. Unfortunately the squirrels were not going along with that plan.
Feeding the squirrels
The small child has been wanting to hand feed one for a while now, so to get the opportuntiy, we had to take ourselves onto the muddy grass!
It wasn’t long before the rustling of our snack bags got some attention. Crouching down and offering our delights these fluffy mammals soon came bounding over. A little cautious to start with, but then gaining confidence as they realised what we were offering!
The small one even made a new friend – who kept returning for more!
