Dublin Days: Part one Wilde about Oscar!

I have just returned from a short city break to Dublin. Today I thought I would share my experience of visiting the home of Oscar Wilde.

Dublin city break

Those of you who follow my blogs will know how much I love to travel. If money allowed, I would go on more holidays. I have a long list of destinations I would love to visit. My last trip was to Sicily in 2024, so I was definatley ready to pack my bags again!

I was fortunate to be able to visit the republic of Ireland recently. As I was only going to be visiting for a few days it made sense to just explore the capital city, Dublin.

I have many places within Ireland that I want to visit and as I didn’t have time on this occasion, I will just have to return to this beautiful island!

Oscar Wilde house

Most people are familiar with his novels The Picture of Dorian Gray (1891) and The Importance of Being Earnest (1895). I was also aware of his run in with the law over his sexuality. However, I was not aware of his parents and the role they played in Victorian society. It was a facinating visit!
