Sara is a photographer based in the South of England. Her work is varied. However, her specialism is in fine art photography.
Her art is created using composite images to create surreal and fantastical worlds. Often using elements of the natural world and combining this with the real world to create alternative worlds.
The real world can be scary, strange, or even a bit boring at times. With her work, she hopes to provide a little escapism.
About Sara Sadler
I first started taking photographs when my children were born. I wanted to capture those special moments of childhood, as they grow up way too quickly! So I picked up a camera and taught myself how to get more creative with it.
As time went on I wanted to push that creativity and use the camera as a tool, but create something more unusual with it. I never had the patience to get creative with other artist mediums, so photography filled my creative needs perfectly.
My photographic journey started with documenting wildlife and nature subjects in their natural habitats. I spent many years perfecting my skills in this documentary style. Also won multiple awards for my work from the Guild of Photographers.
However, over the years my interest has developed and I have found a real passion for taking these interesting and complex natural subjects and creating an alternative world for them through image manipulation. I create painterly images, blurring the lines between photography and other art mediums. I was influenced by photographers such as Lee Miller and Cecil Beaton, who were both early pioneers of photo manipulation.
Using my camera to collect images, I find myself photographing some really strange subjects on a regular basis. I can see potential images in textures, shapes, or abstract objects. Still influenced by the natural world, wildlife, and science, I combine these images to create alternative worlds within worlds.
More recently my surrealist art has been recognized by the Guild of Photographers, where it was shortlisted for the Founders Cup in 2021.
I have produced bespoke art for clients over the years and continue to do so. For more details on this please email me at sara@sarasadlerphotography.co.uk
